Follow-up questions from today's sermon

As you continue in your small group discussions on Mark, here are some thoughts from today's sermon that you might include in your discussions:

The Theology of glory: God is most known in power. God's favor is manifested in the circumstances of life, in glory and power.

The Theology of the cross: God is most known in his weakness. God's favor is manifested in Jesus, in suffering, death, and the cross.

1. How does your theology impact how you respond to difficulty, sadness, disappointment?
2. How might a theology of glory lead to materialism, individualism, and a reluctance to serve?
3. How might a theology of the cross affect your idea of success?
4. What kind of theology do you have? What do you need to be honest with God about?
5. What would it really mean for you to be more like Jesus?
