Sermon follow-up for today's message: some questions to ponder

1. The message of the gospel of Matthew can be summed up in the song "This is our God". He's here, we don't have to wait for him anymore. How does that affect your attitude and how you live your life?

2. Whether you see him or not, feel him or not, sense him or not, Jesus is our Immanuel through the mundane and difficult days. Think through your last week - how has Jesus been with you?

3. Like Peter, our fundamental problem is insecurity; we spend life coping with a lack of self-confidence, feeling like unimportant nobodies with scared, self-conscious fears. But Jesus saw what Peter could become by God's grace. What might Jesus free you to become?

4. The Messiah gave his life for the forgiveness of sins: God forgives us, we forgive others, we forgive ourselves. It's all covered by the cross. Who do you need to forgive?
