Which group are you?

The shepherding group focuses all its energy on sharing and personal needs. Caring is essential, but if groups become like therapy sessions, people may become weary of "the problem of the week" and stop coming.

The teaching group focuses completely on the Bible and teaching, believing knowledge of the Bible is key. While Bible study is important, this group doesn't always move beyond knowledge to share life experiences and develop God-centered relationships.

The fellowship group eats together, laughs, has game nights, goes out together and has a ton of fun, but they avoid anything meaningful with regard to life change and God’s role in it. It's like any other social group.

The right balance is in the life change group that understands that all 3 are important. There is awesome fellowship so that people become friends and can open up and share their hearts. They are sensitive and committed to meeting needs, but they understand the difference between helping and enabling. The curriculum involves healthy discussion and shared experiences so that life change can happen. In short, this group is balanced.
